Estimate Process
Often we get the same questions from our clients as to what the
next steps are after sending in an estimate request. We broke down
the estimate process so that you can understand clearly
what happens in a renovation project step by step. We call
to book you in for an estimate within 48 hours of receiving your
request
1. Our estimators review your job in an in home
consultation
2. If required our design option is
available
Design Option
If you go with our design option this is the 1st step before any
estimate is created. The price for design is reflective on how
detailed you wish the design to be usually costs are 1-10% of the
total project. At this stage we book you in with one of our
designers who sits with you and draws out the whole project
including all interior finishes. We then use the layout and make a
3d
rendition of the project. This allows you to see the
project as it would look in a finished state.
The benefits of choosing the design option is it allows you to
control costs as all of your interior finishes are preselected and
the whole job is visualized which prevents any potential details
from being omitted. Our design software allows us to estimate
projected job costs based on the options you select in the design
so you always know what the project will cost. It also allows you
to view the project in every detail including framing, electrical,
structural...etc This is definitely an option worth looking into
for any large scale project.
3. Estimators take all the required measurements and work
on the estimate in our offices.
Estimate Time
Estimates usually take between 1-10 days to develop depending on
the complexity and details and how many different suppliers and
trades are required. If timeline is an issue we can usually
expedite the estimate.
Estimate is sent to you for revisions.
Revisions
Usually when we send off an estimate their is at least 1 round of
revisions that have to be made. These revisions often entail
clarifications in some areas that you are not sure about or adding
details that were missing or removing items that you no longer
want. Revisions take the most amount of time on any estimate. If
your job is on a deadline then this is where you can save the most
amount of time by letting our staff know that you are looking at
making a decision sooner than later. The faster you get back to us
the faster we can get back to you and the faster your job can be
scheduled.
Ok so we now have an estimate that we all agree on what do we do
next?
Signing and Scheduling
Congratulation! The hardest part is over. At this stage we
finalize the job start dates, collect the 1st instalment of the
project and book the next step of the project, the
walkthrough.
4. Walkthrough
At the walkthrough we coordinate our trades to be onsite so that
we can effectively communicate the job to them and we can introduce
you to the team that will be working on the project. At this stage
we will give you a folder with the requirements on you end and a
breakdown of the job phases including answers to any potential
questions you may have such as garbage, lock boxes, work
times...etc
5. Open Project
Congratulations!! Your project is now underway. Our team will
check in with you regularly to answer any questions you may have
and to update you on job progress.
