OGC LTD specializes in complete home renovations, additions and custom home builds. As part of Canadian General Contractors Group we have offices in Vancouver, Calgary and Ottawa. We are looking for a talented and experienced painting contractor to join our team. The ideal candidate will have already completed an apprenticeship through an accredited post-secondary institution or equivalent training and will have a portfolio of their work available for viewing. The painting contractor’s responsibilities include reading and interpreting blueprints, repairing and preparing walls, baseboards, electrical outlets, doors, etc to ensure an accurate and professional paint job, and cleaning up the job site upon completion.

The successful candidate will fulfill the following education, experience and skills requirements;

• Completion of high school diploma
• Completion of a painting apprenticeship through an accredited post-secondary institution or equivalent on-the-job training
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and other technical drawings
• Knowledge of the painting trade including various suppliers, best practices, hazardous materials and occupational health and safety
• Experience estimating material and labour costs and providing quotes an asset
• Knowledge of applicable building code requirements
• Valid driver’s license and reliable access to a vehicle
• Ability to supervise others when necessary
• Effective written and verbal English communication skills
• Ability to work independently and to collaborate with other trades
• Demonstrated history of reliability and professionalism in your trade
• Completion of a portfolio of past work
